​Friends of Timberline Timberline Lodge Pendleton Blanket

The combined graphic elements and colors pay homage to the historic landmark and the people who built it. The white background represents the eternal snows that blanket the ground and surround the Lodge each winter.

In the center ​the black iron snow goose weather vane is the enduring symbol of Timberline. On the top and bottom the black Thunderbird motif mirrors the inscription above the huge door to the Lodge and denotes the lasting strength and endurance of this grand structure, inviting all to enjoy its vast and timeless beauty.

The bands of red stand for the imagination and passion that ran through the hearts and minds of the hundreds of men and women who made this architectural wonder a reality. Size 64″x 80″ Woven in 85% virgin wool, 15% cotton. Reverse color is black with white symbols, red bands and red border.  $350.00

This is a limited edition of 80, numbered and custom-framed. Ray’s signature is embossed in the lower right corner of the mat. The Builders of Timberline Lodge


The preparation, publishing and distribution of this 30 page pamphlet was conceived by Works Progress Administration staff. The text was written by the Writer's Project and documents the story of building the Lodge as if you were there. The drawings and illustrations (by Virginia Darce’, Martina Gangle, and Howard Sewall) were prepared by the Art Project. Very limited quantity from original 1937 inventory. $50.00

The 60 page paperback book includes the history of the Lodge, its builders and artists. It details the art and artifacts within the Lodge. Doorways to the Past: Timberline Lodge, Legacy of the Thirties courtesy of OPB, a recording of President Roosevelt's dedication speech at the Lodge on Tuesday September 28, 1937.
