Friends of Timberline introduces our Collectors' Pendleton Blanket
The combined graphic elements and colors in the blanket pay homage to the historic landmark, Timberline Lodge and the people who built it. We celebrate its lasting place upon the rugged landscape and honoring the outstanding efforts of the WPA.
The white background represents the eternal snows that blanket the ground and surround the lodge each winter.
The black iron snow goose weather vane is the enduring symbol of Timberline. It says, "Welcome! come inside and enjoy my warmth and beauty".
The black Thunderbird motif mirrors the inscription above the huge door to the lodge and denotes the lasting strength and endurance of this grand structure, inviting all to enjoy its vast and timeless beauty.
The bands of red stand for the imagination and passion that ran through the hearts and minds of the hundreds of men and women who made this architectural wonder a reality on Mt. Hood in 1937.
Proceeds from the sale of this blanket will be used by Friends of Timberline for special restoration projects at the lodge.
